1000 Pound Club Rules & Submission Standards

Official requirements to qualify for the Club 1000 Plus leaderboard.

The 1000 Pound Club is a badge of honor for lifters who can achieve a combined one-rep max total of 1000 lb (454 kg) or more across the barbell squat, bench press, and deadlift. This milestone signals meaningful strength proficiency in the three major barbell lifts.

To join the club and be added to the leaderboard, you must meet the qualification threshold and comply with all standards in this guide. Submissions that fail to meet standards can be rejected or disqualified.

Chapter 1

Eligibility & Total Requirement

  • Your combined best one-rep max must total at least 1000 lb (454 kg).
  • Only lifts performed with compliant form standards are eligible for scoring.
  • All submissions must be truthful, clearly documented, and attributable to your account.
  • Leaderboard placement is not guaranteed until the moderation review is complete.
Chapter 2

Squat Standards

2.1 Squat Form

  • Start and finish the lift under control with full lockout at the top.
  • Hip crease must clearly descend below the top of the knee at depth.
  • No spotter-assisted upward force is permitted during the working rep.

2.2 Squat Equipment

  • Allowed: belt, wrist wraps, knee sleeves, and squat shoes.
  • Wraps and supportive gear are acceptable only if they do not obscure judging points.
  • Unapproved specialty equipment may result in a non-counted attempt.

2.3 Squat Video Requirements

  • Camera angle must show full body, bar path, and depth standard.
  • Plates and loading must be visible and reasonably verifiable.
  • Do not cut the recording before unrack/start and full completion/rack.
Chapter 3

Bench Press Standards

3.1 Bench Press Form

  • Rep begins with controlled unrack and ends with clear elbow lockout.
  • Bar must touch the torso/chest area before pressing to completion.
  • Bouncing, deliberate sinking, or assisted lockout invalidates the attempt.

3.2 Bench Press Equipment

  • Allowed: belt, wrist wraps, elbow sleeves, and flat bench accessories.
  • Shirts or gear that materially alter raw pressing mechanics are prohibited unless explicitly announced in division rules.

3.3 Bench Press Video Requirements

  • Frame should capture both bar travel and full arm extension.
  • Lighting and angle must allow judges to see chest touch and lockout.
  • Any edit or cut that obscures the attempt may trigger rejection.
Chapter 4

Deadlift Standards

4.1 Deadlift Form

  • Lift starts from the floor and ends at full lockout with hips and knees extended.
  • No hitching that materially assists completion of the lift.
  • Downward movement before lockout signals a failed attempt.

4.2 Deadlift Equipment

  • Allowed: belt, chalk, straps (if division allows), and deadlift slippers/shoes.
  • Any equipment that makes judging impossible may invalidate the submission.

4.3 Deadlift Video Requirements

  • Barbell, plates, and full body must remain visible throughout the lift.
  • Camera should be steady and close enough to verify lockout quality.
  • Attempt must show start from a motionless bar on the floor.
Chapter 5

Review Outcomes & Disqualification

  • Approved: Lift is counted toward your 1000 lb total.
  • Needs Clarification: Better angle, plate detail, or contextual evidence required.
  • Rejected: Lift does not meet form/equipment/video standards.
  • Disqualified: Misrepresentation, repeated non-compliance, or manipulation of evidence.

Moderation decisions exist to keep the leaderboard fair, transparent, and credible for all competitors.
